Reddit post research: what to post, where, and when
Post Lab is a Reddit post research tool for anyone about to write a post. Describe an idea, paste a draft or drop a Reddit post link, and it matches the text to topics built from past Reddit posts. Each topic shows what people post and struggle with, who writes about it, the subreddits where it is active with their posting requirements, and timing.

What Post Lab does
Topic tabs
Your text is matched to topics built from past Reddit posts, one tab per topic. When the closest topic is still far from your text, a Loose match note says so, and a text that fits no topic gets no guesses at all.
Where & when to post
Subreddits where the topic is active, ranked by how close their posts sit to your text, with median and top 10% scores, posting rules and the share of posts moderators or admins removed. Below them: a community map, related subreddits, Outcome distribution, Seasonality, Timing and Crosspost destinations.
Who writes about it
Gender, age and location of the people who post on the topic. Age is counted at the time of writing, and an axis with too few authors says Not enough data instead of showing a number.
What people post and struggle with
The topic's own posts and comments, its intent mix and the problems people keep raising there. The Copy for AI button copies the post and its context for your own assistant.
Seasonality and In season
A chart of the conversation since 2005 and the months it peaks. In season lists topics whose usual peak is one to twelve weeks away, so a post can go up before the wave rather than after it.

What Post Lab doesn't do
Here is what it won't do, so you know before you start.
- It doesn't score a title or a draft and doesn't predict upvotes: Outcome distribution describes how posts already did in those subreddits, not how yours will.
- It doesn't write, publish or schedule posts.
- It can't tell whether your account is banned or shadowbanned.
- A subreddit's full rule text lives on its page in Subreddits; Post Lab shows posting requirements, not the rules in full.
- It covers Reddit only, not TikTok, YouTube or Instagram.
Post Lab: common questions
What should I post on Reddit?
Start from what a community already discusses. Post Lab matches your idea to topics built from past Reddit posts and shows what people post on each, what they struggle with and which subreddits carry it, so your post answers something people are already asking.
What is the best time to post on Reddit for a specific subreddit?
Each subreddit has its own, and it matters less than most advice suggests: in our test on 19,696 subreddits, a subreddit's own best 4 hours raised the odds of reaching its top 10% by 9.6%, and its busiest hours by 1.9%. Post Lab's Timing card shows the topic's peak hour in your time zone, the typical day in each subreddit, and whether the hour matters there at all.
Can Post Lab predict how many upvotes my post will get?
No. It shows how posts on the same topic did in each subreddit (median and top 10% scores, and the share that passed a score of 1,000), which is a record of the past, not a forecast for your post.
Which subreddits can I post my idea in?
Post Lab ranks the subreddits that carried posts on your topic by how close those posts are to your text, and lists each one's posting requirements, allowed post types and the share of posts moderators or admins removed. Related subreddits and crosspost destinations add more places to consider.
Does Post Lab write the post for me?
No. Post Lab doesn't write, edit or publish anything: it shows what is already on Reddit around your idea, and the post itself is yours to write.
Is Post Lab free?
Post Lab isn't sold on its own: it comes with every KissMyPost plan, and the plans differ in how many kisses (our credits) they include. A one-day trial is open on any plan.
