Website to Reddit: common questions
What does the Website to Reddit tool do?
It reads your homepage, works out what your site is about in the way people talk about it on Reddit, and shows the subreddits where that audience is, the competitors Reddit links to in the same conversations, the subreddits where those competitors are discussed, and communities where you can launch.
Do you store my website?
No. The page is read once to answer your request. We keep the answer only for the moment it takes to show it, not the page and not a copy of your site.
Why does it say it can't read my page?
Some sites build their text with JavaScript after the page loads, or sit behind a login or a bot check, so there is almost no text for the tool to read. Describe your site in one sentence in the box that appears and the tool uses that instead.
Where does the data come from?
From public Reddit activity: which topics communities discuss, which sites their posts link to, and where those links come up. Nothing is taken from your site beyond the text on the page you enter.
Is it free?
Yes. Visitors without an account see the top results for a few sites a day. A free account opens every competitor, where they are discussed and the launch communities.
