Typical rules check account age, karma, banned words, link domains and missing title tags. A post held by AutoModerator waits in the mod queue until a person approves it.
If your post vanished a moment after you sent it, an AutoModerator rule is a common cause. The subreddit's rules page often lists the checks, and a polite message to the moderators can get it approved.
AutoModerator is also the busiest account on Reddit: its pinned welcome and reminder comments make up a visible share of all comments.
